Since its inception in 1992, Throttle Jockey has emerged as a renowned brand in the motocross industry, offering top-quality graphic kits, numbers, stickers, and apparel for dirt bike enthusiasts. Founded by two motocross-racing brothers, Robert and Matt Davis, Throttle Jockey began as a small venture that would soon carve its own path in the world of motocross. With a commitment to superior quality and a passion for the sport, Throttle Jockey has become a trusted name among riders and race teams alike. Let's take a closer look at the brand's inspiring history and its significant milestones.

The story of Throttle Jockey dates back to 1978 when Robert and Matt Davis, fueled by their motocross racing dreams, decided to pursue a career that wouldn't confine them to ordinary jobs. In 1984, the older brother, Robert, started screen-printing t-shirts, inspired by his desire to put his name and number on his own race jersey. Their journey took an unexpected turn when they became involved in the skateboarding industry, producing vinyl stickers for prominent companies such as Alien Workshop, H-Street, Think, Real, Dog Town, and Gullwing trucks. However, their true passion for motocross led them back in 1989.

Reigniting their love for motocross, Robert and Matt ventured into creating numbers, stickers, and t-shirts, coining the now-famous phrase, "Because Golf Courses Should Be Motocross Tracks!" Their initial success fueled their determination to produce the highest-quality dirt bike graphic kits, leading to the establishment of Throttle Jockey in 1992. The brand's dedication to research and development of materials and processes set them on a path towards excellence in the industry.

In 1992, Throttle Jockey landed its first major job for the 'Pro-Circuit/Honda/Peak Antifreeze Race Team,' featuring riders like Jeremy McGrath, Steve Lamson, and Brian Swink. This breakthrough opportunity opened doors for the brand, and in 1994, they were approached to design graphics for the DGY 'Yamaha Support Team' with Doug Henry and Jimmy Button, as well as the 'Boyesen Yamaha Support Team' with John Dowd and Scott Sheak. Throttle Jockey's reputation for exceptional quality caught the attention of American Honda, leading to a significant partnership.

Building on their track record of delivering superior products and services, Throttle Jockey entered into an official sponsorship agreement with American Honda in 1998, which has continued to the present day. Honda recognized Throttle Jockey's commitment to excellence, making them an integral part of their motocross and supercross teams. This partnership solidified Throttle Jockey's position as a trusted provider of graphic kits, and their dedication to delivering the best products and service further strengthened their bond with Honda.

Throttle Jockey's success extended beyond the motocross world. The brand had the honor of manufacturing one-of-a-kind graphics for Universal Studios' films, such as "The Mummy Returns" and "Jurassic Park" themed bikes. Additionally, Throttle Jockey's expertise in creating custom graphics and seat covers garnered attention from race teams and dealerships across the United States and abroad. Collaborating with industry-leading companies like Wiseco, Racer X, Cometic, No-Toil, Fasst, Showa, Bridgestone, Spectro, HRC, and Moto Tees further cemented Throttle Jockey's reputation as a go-to brand for high-quality motocross graphics.

Throttle Jockey's journey from humble beginnings to becoming a prominent name in the motocross industry is a testament to the unwavering passion and dedication of the Davis brothers. By combining their love for motocross with a commitment to superior quality and innovation, Throttle Jockey has continuously provided riders, race teams, and enthusiasts with exceptional graphic kits and merchandise. As the brand continues to evolve and expand its horizons, one thing remains unchanged – their relentless pursuit of excellence in everything they do. Throttle Jockey is more than a brand; it's a symbol of the motocross spirit and a trusted companion for riders on and off the track.
